I am your new Google

I'm often asked "You're a high risk OB. Do you tell my doctors what to do?" And the answer, actually is no. I'm going to help empower YOU to do that. In the best possible way. I’m here to help you as a woman, as a client, make a game plan to get the best care that you can get from the care team that you have, and empower yourself with education and knowledge to help your doctors help you. So when we have a session, we are going to review whatever it is that your issue is; whether it’s something that needs to be addressed in one session or whether it’s something that you need me for over a period of time to help you get through. I am going to help you with the information you’ve been given or the information you’ve been struggling with, think about what are the right questions to ask.

How can I best access my physician in the smartest way possible to get what I need?

How can I help them help me and understand that I am an educated consumer?

That’s what I am here for. I'm your navigator, your translator, your friend.

I am also here to help you build your toolbox. We are going to talk about who is supporting you emotionally. We are going to talk about what gets you through the hard times. We’re going to talk about if there is anything else that can be added to your life, your pregnancy, your situation to get you where you want to be emotionally. And then, I am going to serve as your witness. I’m a mother, a friend, a cousin, an ear, I am the person that never in my entire career has minded when someone says “I know it's night time but would you mind talking with my (fill in the blank)?". I've never once in my twenty years of practicing medicine said no. Let me be here for you as your guide, as a cheerleader, as your witness, as your friend and most importantly as your coach.

And most of all, I'm your new Google. No more rabbit holes of fear. I'll get you what you need to read, things that doctors read and make sure you understand it. Imagine that. No more Google. It's a lesson you can take home with your baby :).

I will also be here for you for the aftermath if you need me. With a special interest in maternal mental health and wellness, we can navigate the journey together, fill the gaps and make you the best YOU there is. It's all High Risk to me. After all, what's more precious and intricate than the journey through motherhood?
